Food Holiday Gifts with a Nod to New Jersey
Christmas is only a week away, and many of us are scrambling to find gifts for friends and family. Sometimes, finding that perfect gift can be a challenge between limited budgets and the fact that some people on our shopping list are difficult to please. Something that we have learned over the years is that food gifts that are special to New Jersey and made right here in our state are always a huge hit. And they are incredibly affordable! Here are some of our favorite New Jersey food gifts for the holidays:
Bosco Chocolate Syrup
Who doesn’t love adding chocolate syrup to milk or ice cream? Bosco chocolate syrup is made in Montville Township and makes a great gift for anyone on your list. If you wanted to take the gift up a notch, you could include a couple of jars of sprinkles and maybe even a set of dessert cups or old-fashioned fountain shop glasses (available at most department or home goods stores at an affordable price).
Condiments like jam/jellies, mustards, sauces, and dressings are always a huge hit with recipients and rarely go to waste. If you don’t have time to make your own or are not confident in the kitchen, Muirhead Foods is a lifesaver! We are particularly fond of the brand’s Pecan Pumpkin Butter, Honey Mustard, and Apple Pomegranate Chutney. Add in a box of crackers or a loaf of French bread from your favorite local bakery.
Old York Cellars Wine
Who says that you need to go to California or France for good wine? You can find great wine made right here in New Jersey! We really love the wines made by Old York Cellars, which is located in nearby Ringoes. A bottle always makes a great gift (assuming that the recipient is of legal drinking age), and you can always add in a set of wine charms.
